An Afternoon with Katy
Katy was the lucky winner of a portrait session via raffle ticket at a Charleston Animal Society event this past November, and I had such a fun afternoon capturing her beauty and getting to know her a bit as we explored downtown Charleston!
The necklace was a special gift from her boyfriend, and the portraits were to be his Christmas gift… I’m sure it was one of the best gifts he’d ever received!!
Katy had such a beautiful vibrancy and life “spark” — My goal in every portrait session is to capture the unique personality of each of my subjects, and she made it easy.
Considering that it was late December, the weather could not have been more perfect… one of my favorite things about Charleston is that it is always green! No matter what the time of year, there are always flowers blooming, trees full of foliage, and LIFE everywhere you look — a portrait photographers dream!
The Thornton Family
Due to a bit of a flash flood, we moved this recent portrait session into this wonderful family’s house, which they had just moved into two weeks previously! What a great opportunity to capture the family as well as their new home. (And I have to say – for just having lived there for two weeks, the home looked AMAZING! I was definitely impressed)
This face made it hard for me to put my camera away – so cute! — and such a good sport with a camera pointed at him for an hour.
I love capturing close relationships between siblings, and these two were absolutely delightful… AND adorable!
