I loved capturing these beautiful blue eyes… little Makena is an absolute delight to have in front of the camera, as her smiles show! Another great “Fall” family portrait session on Folly Beach — I (and my families!) am so enjoying these breezy morning portrait sessions on the beach. The breeze does prove a bit of a challenge for hair sometimes, but such a relief after those steamy summer months.

What a beautiful time of year for a Folly Beach family vacation! The island has quieted down a bit and the mornings and evenings are delightfully crisp with enough warm sun during the day to still make for perfect beach weather.

These two families picked a perfect time for their vacation and I enjoyed being their Folly Beach photographer! Their two little boys were full of personality and thought that having to smile in front of a camera when the ocean was right there beckoning to them was pure torture… and I can’t say I blame them a bit!

Baby Josiah

Last week I went with this recently expanded family to explore Mepkin Abbey and take a few family photos… what a beautiful place!! It’s not that far from Charleston, but in my two years of living here and my gazillions of weddings in seemingly every possible location, I had yet to make it out there.

I love these two! I had the privilege of capturing their wedding two years ago, and was so excited when little Josiah joined the family this past spring. I am a transplant in Charleston and over 800 miles from “home”, so consider them my Charleston family and am grateful to have them in my life 🙂

It has been so much fun to watch the transition from “lovebirds” to “newlyweds” to “parents” (although they’re still lovebirds!) — they are awesome at it! Josiah is a lucky little guy. He’s also a pretty perfect baby, so I’d say that they are lucky parents as well.

He’s got heartbreaker eyes… so beautiful. E & Z — you guys made just about the most adorable baby ever!!

I had a great early morning portrait session with this wonderful family at the Folly Beach fishing pier last weekend… I love it when big families like this are able to gather together for vacations like this! 

 

This adorable child was happiest in the water (and by in, I mean in) so we were all fairly soaked by the end of the session!

The New Mr. and Mrs…

Considering that I live on Folly Beach and passionately love all things Folly, I have to say that I am a bit partial to all of my Folly Beach sessions, whether it’s a beach wedding, beach family portraits, or a beach engagement. So, shooting this recent Folly Beach wedding was such a joy! I loved the setting, I loved the couple, I loved the Love… it was all simply wonderful.

What a beautifully radiant bride!

I love the joy written all over this capture… there were so many ecstatic and hilarious moments throughout this event — the way it should be.

These guys were AWESOME.

They definitely belong together 🙂
