Renewing an Old Tradition

Vow renewals are a beautiful way to celebrate a milestone anniversary and reinforce your sacred promise to each other. Although it’s more commonly practiced by couples who have been married for many years, it’s becoming more and more popular for “newly weds,” like Chris and Diana, to celebrate their one-year anniversary by publicly re-committing to each other. With Diana in her gown and Chris in his tux, it may have looked like they had just gotten hitched that very day, but after one year of marriage they were probably a lot more comfortable with each other and a lot more relaxed than I’m sure they had been on their wedding day… and the camera saw that. I had a lot of fun photographing these two, and as the jokes between the love-birds flew, I kept snapping away capturing each and every genuine moment they shared.

Perhaps  one day when they reach the big twenty-five year mark they’ll look back on these photos and be able to relive the first anniversary they shared together…and maybe they’ll even decide to renew their vows once again.

Happy Birthday, Nora!

What a wonderful time of year for a birthday!

One of the benefits of living in sunny Charleston are mid-70s days in
the middle of December. This portrait session day was one of the
nicest — warm enough for bare toes and a birthday dress.

Happy One-Year-Of-Life, Nora… I’m sure you were the best Christmas gift your parents have ever received!
