New Arrival

My gear is important to me as a Charleston wedding and portrait photographer… we spend a lot of time together. We actually get quite attached, my cameras and I. So when a camera breaks, as one did at a recent wedding (don’t worry, brides… I always have a backup camera with me), it’s a bit of a downer. BUT. That unfortunate happening just made it all the more exciting that a new (and shinier and faster and, yes, more $$$) was on its way to my doorstep!

If you’re a nerd like me, you can get all the details here. If you’re not a nerd, then I’ll just tell you that your portraits (well, if I take your portraits) are going to be ridiculously awesome. Ready to schedule a session now?

We’ve been having a spectacular time getting acquainted.

Married at Sea

To finish off a weekend of photography fun, I spent the evening with an exquisitely beautiful bride and her groom, capturing the particulars of their lifelong commitment to one another. The wedding was on the Carolina Girl yacht, and I could go on and on about how perfectly beautiful each little detail was, but instead I will just say that it was every little girl’s fairy tale dream come true.

A wedding, an engagement portrait session, a newborn baby portrait session… What a great weekend!

Love is in the Air!

Love is spectacular at any time of the year, but with spring waking up into summer, it seems extra perfect. Honeysuckle-scented air, sun-kissed skin, and, of course, the fact that this is Charleston, all combined to create an engagement session that was, to say the least, divine.

It was a “destination” Charleston engagement portrait session so we focused on making it exquisitely Charleston-esque. Needless to say, the colors along Rainbow Row, historic cobblestone, and the intricate ironwork along Tradd Street were essential players in our creative venture. I love to show off my city, and today she did not disappoint in the least… such fun to be an engagement portrait photographer in historic Charleston!

Welcome to the World!

Have I mentioned that newborn photography is one of my favorite things in the whole world?

I love babies, and that precious newborn stage is one of my favorites to capture. Soft skin, sleepy eyes, and the tiniest features imaginable… there’s something about them that is simply magical. Each time I take newborn portraits, I feel as if I am witness to something sacred.

As a Charleston photographer during wedding season, the last three months have been a flurry of one wedding after the other. So I loved every second spent with this little one.

Already, Baby Josiah is in love with this big world that is his to explore, and his wide, beautiful blue eyes take everything in with frank curiosity. He’s a serious one, and made me wonder what sort of big thoughts are tumbling around inside that adorable little head. His smiles would melt the hearts of anyone around to see them… this one’s going to be a heartbreaker for sure!

Thank you for allowing me to be your Charleston baby photographer!
